On the Ground in Dar

Just a quick note, safe arrival in Tanzania. Lovely visit to Hampton Court yesterday and then a nightflight to Dar es Salaam. Not particularly restful, so we have managed an early check-in at a Holiday Inn downtown and are napping. Morning traffic from the Dar airport to the city center was more terrifying than Bangkok and I never thought I'd say that. Put ourselves in the hands of a very pleasant (and very persistent) minibus driver after checking his price out with our hotel to make sure it was within reason. We started our malaria meds this morning. Don't drink the tap water, bottled only from here on out until we get to KCMC. More later.
