Marketing

The day before we were to have the AMO students to dinner, we went to the downtown covered market to buy the produce. It’s a huge area in downtown Moshi, the block between Chagga and Riadha Street, south of Market Street. Mostly it’s food and produce, although you can also buy shoes, brooms, plastic basins, shoes, cooking oil, and giant bags of beans, rice, tiny smelly dried fish, and spices.

We bought cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, mangoes, carrots, fresh shelled peas, and red onions. Our cloth shopping sack was bulging by the time we were done, so thank goodness we have strong kids to carry it home.
